What is Photo Rejuvenation?
IPL Photo Rejuvenation reduces skin damage without disrupting the surface of the skin while treating a wide range of skin concerns to improve texture and complexion. The IPL device emits a range of light wavelengths that target haemoglobin (red blood cells in the vessel) or melanin (pigment in freckles or age spots). After the light beam passes through the layers of skin, it is absorbed by the blood cells or superficial pigment correcting the dilated vessel or clearing the pigment.What will Photo Rejuvenation treat?

What are the desired results?
You can see visible changes after each treatment seeing gradual improvement over time. After each IPL treatment, the texture of your skin should feel smoother and with a more balanced tone. As an overall result there will be gradual decrease in overall flushing, redness, fine lines and age spots.Is it painful?
There may be a mild discomfort during treatment, but most patients tolerate this without any issues.What are the potential risks?
- Occasional bruising
- Temporary pigment, blistering, crusting, or scarring may occur, especially in those with darker or tanned skin.
What are the possible side effects?
For treatment of veins, flushing is common after the treatment for 2 - 12 hours. For pigmentation, the pigment looks darker for 3 - 7 days. Superficial and fine crusting can occur, which may last up to 10 days. Other side effects are:- Darkening or crusting of pigment
- Temporary bruising or swelling
- Cold sores may be activated
- Skin redness, mild burning sensation
What are the pre and post care instructions?
- Avoid sun tan, solarium tan, and spray tans 1 month before each treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment and use an SPF 30+ daily.
- Laser aid or a soothing gel
- Do not scrub for 3 to 5 days
- Do not wax for 3 days
- Refrain from immediate strenuous exercise to avoid perspiration
- Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours
How many treatments are needed?
Pigment 1-3 treatments 1 month apartRosacea, flushing, broken capillaries 3-6 treatments 1 month apart.

- Minocycline
- Tetracycline

- Keloid scars
- Antibiotics
- Pregnancy
